About Cleerdin & Hamer

We specialise. As experts in our respective fields, we know all too well that claims of specialisation in all areas of law are unrealistic. They often lead to ill-advised decisions with sometimes irreversible consequences. We, however, only practice in those areas in which we have a high degree of specialisation and expertise. Therefore, we can offer excellent legal council.

Your attorney alone is responsible for your case. One of the most common complaints of other law firms is that the initial discussion is with the senior partner, but the actual work is done by an intern. At Cleerdin & Hamer we pride ourselves on the fact that from beginning to end, the relationship with your attorney is one on one.

We keep our fees competitive. We can do this by doing what we are good at. We invest in our people and their knowledge, not in sumptuous office furnishings. The fee depends on you, your case and your attorney. Do feel free to call and ask.

We are very experienced in dealing with every level of the legal system, ranging from local courts to the Dutch Supreme Court and the European Council. Many of our people have written legal publications.

The firm

In 1974 we started out as a local Amsterdam firm in a series of former shops and houses. The shop windows are still present today, and we offer these for free to local artists to exhibit their work.

Gradually, without any mergers, we have become what we are today. We have lost some of our former legal aid mentality, but not all of it. What we have retained and will never lose sight of is enthusiasm for your case and a straightforward and informal way of conducting our business.
